Princes’ Islands

September 30, 2015

I have seen paradise.

Yesterday I joined a group of students from my university to clean up a beach during an event hosted by the Turkish Marine Ecosystem Protection Association on one of the Prince’s Islands.  I wasn’t happy about getting up at 6 in morning but I’m glad I did! I took a shuttle to a ferry to a ferry to the backside of an island. Taking a ferry in Istanbul is insanely cheap! With my student card I paid around 2.20 Turkish Lira. The views were amazing to say the least. Each island was covered with colorful houses and lush miniature forests. There were tourist horse drawn carriages, cobble stone streets and ice-cream shops. I didn’t want to leave. The ferry stopped at four islands and each of them had their own character and miniature population. Needless to say I’ll be back soon.
