Today marks a little less than one month before my departure and I thought what better time to formally introduce myself. My name is Vanessa and I’m more than excited to share my study abroad experience with YOU. In order to get to know me little better, I thought I’d start off by giving you some insight on what I’ve been up to this summer. This summer has definitely been one for the books. Not because it’s been the most memorable or because it’s been filled with the most adventures. This summer goes down as the summer of change.
If it were any other summer, I’d most likely be planning the next outing with my group of friends from high school. Since a majority of us went our separate ways for college we like to spend as much time together as possible when we have the chance. But this summer has been different. We haven’t been given the same chances. A lot of us are doing our own thing this summer. Many of us have summer school, research internships, work, etc. At first I was a bit upset about how much this summer has changed, but looking at how everything has unfolded so far, I’ve realized that it’s made me appreciate the time and experiences that much more.
This summer I’ve put a lot of my focus into preparing to go abroad and spending quality time with my friends and family whenever I can. I will be giving details on what exactly that entails in upcoming blogs as well as sharing how I’ve managed to cope with all this change.
