If you’re headed to study abroad at Chung-Ang University, you might be eligible for their Global Scholarship to help offset some of your study abroad expenses. This scholarship is unique to Chung-Ang University so students headed to another South Korean university aren’t eligible. But don’t fret, contact your host university’s respective international office. They tend to be very helpful with helping you locate their own scholarships!
The Chung-Ang University Global Scholarship has a few requirements:
- Native English-speaker
- 10-12 hours of availability per week (12 weeks semester)
You will be contacted from CAU’s International Office about your eligibility a few months before you start the semester to apply for this scholarship opportunity. If you don’t get an e-mail it doesn’t hurt to reach out and inquire them directly for more information about it.
The application is fairly straight forward, it asks for general information, work location and hours preferences, and a short essay explaining why you’re interested.
You get two choices of work location preferences:
English Lounge (E-Lounge)
The E-Lounge is a place for CAU and international exchange students to meet up and chat in English. Students can talk about any topics and come here to practice their English-speaking skills, meet new friends, and participate in cultural exchange.
Administrative Office Assistant
Administrative office assistants get placed in offices across CAU campus to do English-related administrative work. Each office is difference, but generally the main skills you need are to be able to communicate well in English, spoken and written.
This scholarship opportunity is a fun way to integrate yourself into your new environment and make friends while helping offset some of your study abroad expenses. If you’re eligible, I highly recommend any student who gets the opportunity to try for it.
